Awaken: Day 31

King of Heaven,

This is the appointed day. For this time and for this hour you have awakened me. And why? It is for your glorious purpose! 

I will never again close my eyes against the Light of Truth. No, I set my face into the sun, eager to stride into this new life, this higher purpose. I submit fully to your call, Lord Jesus. Wherever you go I will follow, from now on. Show me what's next!

Amen.

Awaken: Day 30

O Morning Star,

Your light has risen in me! I was asleep and ignorant of the Truth, but you shook me awake; you shook me out of my sleepwalking life. I was unaware of where I was or where I was going. I had no idea my path led through such darkness. I walked with my eyes closed to righteousness. 

Thank you for waking me up! I praise you, Jesus, for opening my eyes to your glorious light! Hallelujah! I am alive, and I live for you!

Awaken: Day 29

Lamb of God, O Holy One, 

It is you who will open the Book of Life to show the names of all who have been faithful to you. I tremble to picture that great day. Before all of heaven and earth, before God and all the angels, you will break open the seal to prove who is yours, who was faithful to the very end. 

Have mercy on me. I know full well it is only by grace that my name is in that book. Awaken in me the type of service that will demonstrate my humble gratitude. You have given me every gift, and I am compelled to thank you with all that I do. Take my life and all that I am, as your own.

Awaken: Day 28

Savior and Lord, My Jesus,

When I think of all that you observe, and all you have seen from before the world was made, I'm amazed that you desire to know me, to know each of us, so personally. But you are faithful, and in your Book of Life, each individual name is recorded, and none are confused or duplicated. There are no typos, or cases of mistaken identity in your book. No, it is a perfect registry naming each one of us who will inherit life in the Eternal Kingdom of God, the destination of all who follow after you. 

Keep me mindful today that as I carry out my simple tasks each must be done as a gift to you. Regardless of circumstance I can always celebrate that my name was inscribed in the book of Life. You wrote my name - and sealed it with your blood! Allow me to take joy in every possible moment today, so I may give honor to this wonderful opportunity to love and live as a child of God,

Awaken: Day 27

Jesus, 

You are the Overcomer; you overcame the curse of death and the power of sin to enslave us. You gave your all to submit to the will of The Father in every way. And now you are seated beside him, dressed in pure white to demonstrate the perfect purity of your love. The perfect purity of your grace is reflected by the gleaming radiance of your raiment. How beautiful you are!

What a mystery, that by faith in your sacrifice, you have hidden me in yourself. All that you have earned you earned for my benefit. In you, I am an overcomer. In you, I also receive the acceptance of The Father. You have given me your power to love. Though undeserved, you have dressed me in white. You have taken this ugly life of mine and you are making it into a thing of beauty, for your glory. I ask you to increase this work you are doing, all for your name's sake, Jesus, my Lord.

Awaken: Day 26

King of Heaven, high and lifted up, may all eyes be raised to look up to you. We are so far below you, so far from your perfection. I can't imagine how you can look so far down at me with those perfect eyes of love. I can hardly bear your gaze when I am aware of my sin. Thank you for removing it from me. 

When I look from your glory down toward myself, I can see every step of the way has been ordained by Father God to take me into your holiness. The path makes me tremble. Even my errors are transformed into stepping stones toward you! Thank you for all the circumstances in my life. I submit to your desire to use each of them to glorify yourself by transforming me into your image.

Awaken: Day 25

God Eternal, You are unchanging through the generations, yet you move according to the season you've established. Your ways are mysterious and glorious! Thank you for being generous to give insight and wisdom to any who will ask and seek and knock expecting to receive.

I ask you today, Revive me! Awaken me anew! I have proclaimed the new direction over my life, but I still sense that sleep and the ways of death linger at the door waiting for a moment of opportunity to reclaim what once was theirs. I trust in your power to keep what is yours, purchased with the blood of Jesus Christ. Awaken in me a deep eagerness to move forward in maturity of faith, in climbing ever higher in purpose, and in visions of your glory. I praise you and thank you.

Amen.

To awaken our souls to revival we must compare the direction we proclaim with the direction we actually go.

Awaken: Day 24

O Lord, release your fount of renewal in my innermost being. Let your love and concern flow through me. In my weakness of flesh, I may flounder and run out of strength to show kindness, but when I rely on the ever-flowing river of your love that is inside me, directly from your Spirit energizing my spirit, my strength is sufficient for every task you have established for me. But if I disconnect from you my kindness and compassion wither into despair. I choose You! I choose your power to love. Show me how to choose you more and more. Confront me when I choose to be incomplete in my reliance on you. My primary purpose is to glorify your holy name, Jesus Christ.

Awaken: Day 23

Jesus, Good Shepherd, 

Keep me watchful and alert. Sharpen my vision while I am on watch, mindful that the evil one is eager to see me lose ground! This is why I endeavor to depend on your unfailing strength to imbue my daily work with meaning and purpose, while vigilant against his tricks. Please, Lord, let no vain repetitious prayer cross my lips, but only those words inspired by your Spirit, speaking out the holy desires of The Father's heart. Let my gifts be offered in humble charity, and my worship be genuine and from the devotion of every fiber of my being, and for your pleasure only.

Amen.

Awaken: Day 22

Spirit of Life and Truth, essence of my Savior, 

You spoke and awakened me. You breathe life into me daily. Now that I'm no longer shrouded in spiritual sleep, I am dependent on you to sustain this life. I set out to be totally dependent on your life within me, and on your grace to revive me each morning, providing strength that allows faith to grow and prosper my spirit. Renew each morning my heart's deepest affection and devotion to walk with you, Jesus. Even as all we, your children, are each awakened and made alive by your grace, give a new measure of life to us daily. I content myself in you, and am satisfied with your manna for today.

Awaken: Day 21

My Lord, you called to me when I was sound asleep and your voice somehow stirred up my heart to answer you. Oh, the power in your voice! You command the hosts of heaven, but you never choose to over rule my own will. May I never resist your call, and never delay in following your instruction. I want to eagerly respond to you. Even so, my flesh still leans the other way, seemingly without my knowledge. Before I realize the change, a moment comes when I am waking up again to find that I've been inattentive to your wishes. 

You are so patient to forgive every error. I'm so thankful. But Jesus, how I want to be further along in obedience to you! How I want to be the one you can count on to pray until your will is done and not fall asleep. I want to be ever watchful of the enemy, vigilant in prayer, and also in service. But more than anything, I want to delight you! Direct me, Lord Jesus. I'm listening now.

Awaken: Day 20

Gracious Redeemer, 

I am awake, but awaken me further. I am more awake than ever before, but I sense there is more!

Awaken me from the deadness that lingers in my soul. Lift me up from drowsy half-trying, and let me dance with you on clouds of pure obedience! Elevate my spirit into dedication in your service. Show me the way. 

Pry open my heavy eyelids so I can more fully see your Light, lest I stumble backwards into hypocrisy; professing to be transformed by Jesus' finished work on the cross, yet still trying to save myself, or earn your approval. Awaken me first while I still dream, so I will recognize the vision of being alert and active. Bring me completely to a life of order, wisdom, and submission to Your will, my Lord, and my King.!

Awaken: Day 19

Look in my eyes, Jesus. am I really awake? You know.  

Sometimes I get lazy or independent, it's one or the other, so I put on a mask to make it appear I'm spiritually awake, when my heart is sleeping. I need you, Lord, to look behind my pretense, my "good works" done just for show. Others might be fooled, but you know when my actions are hollow and powerless. 

Shake me. Keep on awakening me to true devotion. I can't just buy the right Bible study, or download the trendiest worship videos. Wearing a cross, or religious t shirt, or proclaiming religious virtue - No! It's not enough! If I do those things they must be backed up by having your love as the "brand" of my life. Keep me growing in your image, Jesus, and in The Father's.

Awaken: Day 18

Beautiful Morning Star, One who broke the reign of darkness,

Wipe the sleep from my eyes. Make the power of your spirit well up in me so I can rise. Slumber calls my name, but it is lying to me right now, I don't want to sleep and fall into hypocrisy. I don't want anything to take the primary spot you hold in me, my Lord. My deepest, most true affection must always be for you. Keep me watchful so spiritual sleep doesn't rob me of the sweetness of communion with you.

Awaken: Day 17

The Lord Jesus, it is you who has the Holy Spirit, with all of his powers, graces, and operations. It is by that same Spirit you have begun transforming me. 

Just like the sunrise surely means the full noon sun will shine, even so, your presence in me, in us, is assurance that the full light of your presence will increase. 

I still have moments I am ashamed of. There are times when I let my strength replace yours, and then I fall short of the goal. There are some old ways of thinking that I return to when times are hard. 

But, O Gracious Lord, I will not give up and go back to my old life. This new life that has sprung out of your seed cannot ever be forced back where it was.  Who would wake from a nightmare and then choose to return to it? No, I am made new, in you. I will always be a new creature, by your grace.

Awaken: Day 16

Son of God, 

I lift up my face to you with a thankful heart. Open my eyes now, and open my heart to receive from you and to prepare for the day. 

Show me The Way as I go today, step by step. Who is hungry? Who has need? Who needs encouragement? With the continual abundance of your provision, I am content with what you have put in my hand for today. I am certain of no lack tomorrow. Show me where and when to open my hand and release blessing and abundance to others.

My Jesus, 

I humble myself in your presence. Thank you! You awoke me to become spiritually alive! You saved me, and I'm so thankful for the life I have in you. 

I know you haven't saved me only for my own sake, but for the kingdom of God.  And so I put on YOU, Jesus Christ, as my Lord who rules. To please you, my Lord, is now my life, and my awakening. Rule in me, as the sun rules the day.

Lord and Master, 

I submit to you, and what you have determined I should wear today. I choose to let go of the dingy rags of my own devices, and take on the beautiful raiment of your Spirit. You have seen fit to dress me in the finest way. 

Wrapped in your purity, my heart is protected from the temptations of the enemy. Let me be known for the same humility and righteousness that you are known for. When I choose to wear your armor I am safe from the assault against my soul from the evil one who temporarily runs rampant in this world. Lord, Jesus, equip me to stand firm.

Gentle Savior,

I awaken and clothe myself for the day. Clothe me in your righteousness, Jesus, so I am justified before The Father. Dress me in your Spirit & in your grace so I am sanctified.  Dress me in the garments of your presence, to continually cleanse and renew my spirit. Envelope me in a cape of your purity which guards my heart.

Jesus, 

Awaken me to the Light of your love. Right now, so I can get busy doing whatever you set before me! I know how you lived, Jesus, when you walked as a man on the earth. You gave yourself to meet others' needs. You lay down your will to serve everyone in obedience to The Father. 

Your love has made me ready to serve you. I want to lay aside every tool of my former trade, when I practiced darkness. Just as you obey The Father, I want to obey you. Help me recognize the things I still carry that belong to the darkness. Just point them out, I am already opening my hand to release them to you, one by one. Examine me, Holy Spirit. I lay my heart before you.

O Abba Father, let all your children praise you!

May your children awaken and see, the day is here. So, let's dress ourselves and get on with it. Lead your children to walk uprightly and honestly in the light of day, no longer hiding as we did when we crept in the night.  

Father, you are loving and kind; you are long-suffering. Your reach is never too short to rescue me from trouble. So, although you are incredibly powerful, it's not out of fear that I serve you, my King. Your presence can make me tremble in fear, but I serve you in gratitude and to give you joy. I serve you because I'm amazed at your love for me. I want to act just like you and I want to look just like you, Daddy.

Merciful Father,

How good you are! The reign of darkness is over because of your mercy! We can awaken and walk in your light. The light has surely dawned and yet, it must increase.

Jesus, keep me mindful of the battle today. You gave your life to defeat the power of darkness. You were the only one who could win it. I praise you and thank you. But now I aim to live in it. Lord, please reveal the places where there is room for more light. Speak to me and instruct me. I'm listening now. I'm ready to hear you.

Awaken: Day 9

Loving Father,

You established the times and seasons, so I know there is a time for darkness. There is a purpose for darkness. I was hidden away in darkness until I was born. And while I was hidden there, you were with me, speaking your plans over me, nurturing me with your presence. Each one of us, we were all first brought to life and light out of the darkness.

Lord, when you and I peer back into the dark days of my life I can see your hand was at work there. Even when I wasn't interested in you. Even when I resisted you.  You spoke your desire over me and opened my eyes. You gave me the ability to believe in you. You reached into the darkness and pulled me out, reborn into a new light. Thank you for this miracle. Thank you for birthing me into your arms.

My Lord and My God, 

You are so near me now. I welcome your presence! 

We live in darkness, far from you, and far from your ways. But now the dark night is almost over, and the day is near. You are patiently teaching me to live in these moments of awakening. I celebrating with you, the slow, continual dawning of your light shining deeper into my spirit and permeating my soul, until there is no room for any shadow of death or night. 

Have mercy, O Lord, and let the dark night be finished. I yearn for Your kingdom where this darkness is only a memory that fades as the light of your glory is magnified. Empower me live today as though I am complete and whole because you have made me your own light-filled child. I praise you! I praise your son, Jesus!

My Redeemer, I can't keep myself from you! 

I am more eager each day to spend time with you. Your daily refreshing and renewal moves me closer to becoming the person God made me to be. Each passing day, the hope of salvation draws closer. The day of my destiny is close at hand! The hope of Eternity is near. I can see it, taste it, touch it.

Saturate me in The River of Life. Drown me in your powerful presence like never before. Drench me in your Spirit. Pull me up, fresh and clean, into this new experience with you. I have died, but now I am truly alive! I will gladly die daily, to be truly alive in you.

All Powerful, Mighty God,

This is a holy work transpiring, right now, before my eyes. I sense you pulling back the curtain between us. Clouds are rolling back allowing me to view into the heavenlies! I tremble now in your presence. I kneel before your majesty. I want to linger here, in your presence, even though I quake to be so near you. I want to be shaken by you. 

I am beginning to understand the depth of transformation you intend to do in me, Jesus. Salvation is nearer now than when I first believed. You are illumining to me what you have already fully accomplished on the cross. You are revealing my place in your perfect kingdom. Teach me to walk in it. Teach me to honor your finished work.

Awaken: Day 5

Tender Shepherd,

Awaken this lazy sheep from slumber, move me to put off the clothes of night. I don't want to be clothed in Negligence, False sense of self-protection, Slothful habits, Self-importance.  I refuse to sleep in spiritual death any longer! 

You are awakening me from habits of thinking that lead to spiritual death, which were all born in darkness. This light of yours is dawning with such power, it is almost unbearable in brightness. Your new ways really upset my old apple cart! You are awakening new thoughts, new dreams, new heart desires in me, and new ways of speaking to me. I gladly receive them all. You are recreating me in your own supernaturally beautiful image. Selah.

O, Triumphant Son of God, in whom we are also triumphant,

Awaken my drowsy eyes with the ability to envision things I have never laid eyes on before; Your glory, O Lord, shining before me! Your glory, like a gleaming beacon, directing me into a more glorious path! Awaken my spirit to yield to the incredible power of the One who overcomes. 

Even in me, you have overcome my simpleness, my lowliness, my errant ways. And so I disregard them just as you have. You have prepared me for glorious deeds and a higher way. I submit to your call and you purpose. Teach me to live for your glory.

Jesus, my Savior, I'm thankful for the gift of your Spirit. In communion with you a sense of urgency ignites my brain and my pulse increases. Awakening is racing through me. With each breath I draw in more of your Holy Spirit's power, and you draw me more fully into this surge of awakening. 

I am here with you, Jesus, in your holy presence, desiring to be perfectly in sync with you and your timing. Inspire me to move in unison with you. Let me feel your pulse surge through my own veins, your love flowing through my own heart, your kindness reaching out through my own hands.

Amen.

Jesus, My Risen Savior, 

Surely, it is You who beckons me! The urge to awaken surges up, lifting my thoughts, and finally lifting me out of sleep into consciousness. I am aware of your presence. No longer shrouded in darkness, the atmosphere is charged with urgency, of the ripening of time.

I chose not to turn away from this confrontation. The hour is come. O Lord, awaken me thoroughly! Bring me to full awareness of this season and time, and all that you have called me to do.  I open my spirit to receive your will, your desire.

Lord, Jesus, Now is the time!
I welcome you to awaken my soul, my spirit, and my mind.
Give me awareness of the hour so I will not be content to slumber on, ignoring Your purposes set in motion.
I choose to participate with your intention to awaken me to your purpose, your vision, your desires for me as a child of your kingdom.
The time for darkness is ending. A new day dawns. Awaken me!

Dream Prayer Challenge: Day 31

How majestic is the name of The Lord God, Most High!

It's amazing to me that The Most High God is so concerned with me! You created me to function best when I worship You, and because You love me, You keep chasing after me until I can hear Your voice and recognize The Good Way. My life is only in order when I place You are above all.

You even made an individual place for me to fit in Your Kingdom! What an honor and delight! This role you've made for me is something I can't begin to accomplish in my own strength. I can only fulfill it empowered by Your perfect Love.

You have begun to show me which things don't benefit me, and when I release them there is room for me to receive all those things You've planned for my good. Continue this work in me, O God! I want the refreshing of Your Spirit to dispel all that was old, and bring in more and more of what is new and delightful in Your eyes.

Open my eyes to see the things You choose to reveal. Open my understanding to receive more of the Truth in Your Word, in visions and in dreams, in every way You want to speak. I am filled with wonder and anticipation. Having seen only a glimpse of what is to come, I am enthralled! Thank you, Father God! I thank you and praise you! There is no other way for me but this. AMEN.

For it was I, the LORD your God, who rescued you from the land of Egypt. 

Open your mouth wide, and I will fill it with good things.

Bread of Life,

You have given me a taste of the good life. Your banquet of goodness and mercy satisfy every longing in my heart. Jesus, you are the only bread that satisfies.

Make my appetite for You grow. I hunger and thirst for Your righteousness. It's purity makes me choke on anything else. I'm repulsed by the thought of my own efforts to be good enough. I have no goodness in me apart from You. I only want Your goodness to be magnified in my life. 

Surely, the dreams you give me when I lay down to rest reflect Your glory. Even in the darkest hour of the night I see the light of Your Love revealed!

Attract others to this banquet! There is room for everyone at Your table, if only they will come. Make us ready to receive You, as our Lord and God of all! AMEN.
