Pray
for wisdom.
Jesus,
Lord of All, who knew the end of all things before the beginning, I
worship you. The one who organized all of creation can surely
organize my thoughts and teach me wisdom.
If
I ask you for wisdom you surely give it without restraint, without
treating me like I should already know. You give it abundantly and
with pleasure. (James 1:5)
I
admit it. I need wisdom! Not street smarts, not political insight,
not merely intelligence about the law, or of science, or current
events. No, I need the profound wisdom You offer, which can be like
an internal GPS to guide me into Truth.
“I'm
talking about God's wisdom, the mysterious, hidden wisdom, which God
decided before time began to share with us.” 1 Corinthians 2:7 –
SPS
God,
the way you work and think is so far above what I do, that I can't
understand unless you reveal it to me. Since I am your child, I want
resemble you, remind people of you. I need your wisdom.
Make
the mystery of salvation bubble up in my heart, so I may constantly
ponder it, and discuss it, like a fountain welling up that
continually flows.
“Study
and meditate on the Good News about the Messiah day and night so it
will blossom into knowledge and the mysteries of God's wisdom will be
revealed. Sing and shout gratitude to God” Colossians 3:16
– SPS
Lord,
I am certain that you are happy to give me wisdom. You know more than
I do, the exact wisdom I need. I thank you and praise you for
answering me with so much more than I can ask!
You
are beautiful!
Amen.
