O Lord, My God,
How will I find my way through this world unless you impart understanding and wisdom?
I couldn't even find my way into this world without you. You planned my life long before I took my first breath, before I was hidden away like a secret within my mother's womb.
You whispered your desires for me and they were carried by the wind of your Spirit, which brought life, and I grew. I was formed by your breath like a bubble. If you ever withdrew from me, I would collapse.
You must have spoken to me then, while I was in hiding. You surely showed me many things, perhaps even the whole course for my life. But if so, I came into this world knowing that I'd forget all I once knew.
Even while not knowing, I knew You. My heart was empty until I found you, because you had called me by name, so long ago. You created my soul to be in unrest until I came to you. It's the deepest truth I hold; I was made to belong to you.
Help me turn away from the distractions of this world, the harshness, the false sense of urgency of every little thing in this earthly realm.
Pull the cord and draw back the curtain to that time before. O Jesus, show me the pictures and images that delight you. Dwell with me in my spirit, speak to me in ways I can't explain, give me insight to live as your Word instructs me. AMEN.
A man’s steps are from the LORD; how then can man understand his way?
