Lord Jesus,
I see your example of love in the Gospels, and the way your disciples lived by your example throughout the New Testament scriptures.
Have I idealized them? Have I removed humanity from them? I can't see myself among them. I'm not in their league, even though I love you and want to follow you.
Your disciples did amazing things! They brought the Good News of salvation, healed the sick, raised the dead, they were empowered and led by your Spirit and by angels, through visions and dreams.
They expected amazing things because you taught them to and they believed you.
I believe you, too. Help me believe more, with the same faith you gave to them.
When I awaken each morning, let me wake in awareness that I am established in faith by YOU. AMEN.
